Paella con Chorizo

I love the Spanish kitchen. It smells of sun and sea! But I don’t like seafood or clams in the paella! That’s why I cooked mine with Chorizo and it turned out pretty good!

by

XXL-Ravioli au Gratin

What do you do with fresh pasta? Noodles? Spaghetti? How boring…. I made huge Ravioli, XXL size ones! And because I didn’t want them to fall apart, when boiling, I just baked them, almost like a Lasagna.

by

Pickled Vegetables

Especially during the summer month, when most vegetables are ripe at the same time, you need to find a way, to use them, before they go bad. This is not a new recipe, actually it is very very old, but also very easy to make.

by

Cheese - Herb Scones

Scones are typical English pastries, normally sweet and served with strawberry jam and clotted cream during afternoon tea. I love them! My scones are not sweet, I used a lot of cheese and parsley in them.

by

Cauliflower Mash or Soup

Whoever wants to avoid potatoes because of the carbs, use cauliflower! We loved it and my hubby said, it is so nice and creamy, you would think it’s potato mash. Yes, maybe if you eat it with eyes closed.

by

Baked Corn Tortilla Chips

I used lots of cheese, tomatoes and eggplants. I had to empty the fridge as we are travelling again. I loved them – of course, as I am an auberginoholic – and my hubby, he went almost crazy!

by

watermelon Syrup

After this hot summer the watermelons are beautifully ripe and sweet. Now it’s the time to use them!

by

Colorful deviled Eggs

I love a lot of colors on my table, especially with food. And these deviled eggs bring it with them!

by

Moroccan Chicken Pot

I used chicken breasts because they are perfect with this seasoning and the eggplants. It’s important to cook this dish for a long time, so the sauce and meat will absorb the spices.

by

Melon Soup

This melon soup is perfect for hot summer days! Because it is made with a sweet melon it also tastes a bit sweet. If you serve it really cold it is a delicacy!

by

Salad in a Taco Basket

A fresh salad, served in a shell, binds the freshness with the crunchiness of the taco. I like it, when food cracks under my teeth!

by

Porous Brown Bread

This recipe gave me 3 smaller breads, their insides are wonderful porous and the crusts nice and crisp. It’s just wonderful! I am happy every-time I take these wonderful smelling and crisp breads from the oven.

by

Cherry-Strawberry Jam with Schnapps

I found nice cherries on the market, 1 kg for 1 $, of course I had to buy them! I mixed them with strawberries for sweetness and added one grated apple for the pectin. My jam turned out nice and sweet. And the color is just a beautiful red!!!

Tomato Quiche

Simple and delicious Tomato and Mozzarella Quiche

by

Swiss Sausage Cheese Salad

The Swiss sausage and Cheese salad is famous throughout Switzerland and is served almost in all traditional restaurants. It is my husband’s favorite salad and if we are in Switzerland he will always order it.

by

Cod in Parmesan with Olive Capers Dressing

crispy fish in Parmesan crust and topped with an Olive Capers dressing and served with gluten-free potato fritters

by

Spicy Italian Pork Sausage

I love making my own sausages; you can be creative with meats and spices! The fennel seeds are the typical ingredient the Italians use in their sausages!

by

Swiss National Day Bread Rolls

For this special day you can buy special bread rolls all over Switzerland. As I don’t live in Switzerland, I made them myself! They are very simple!

by

Kookoo Kadoo

Kookoo, or Kuku, is very similar to the Italian frittata. It’s an egg dish with herbs and/or vegetables. There are many very traditional Kookoo recipes from Iran.

by

Hot homemade Mustard

Here in Asia I have lots of friends from the UK and they brag about themselves to be able to eat very very hot food. Mustard has to bring tears to their eyes, or it’s not mustard! I wonder what they will say to my mustard!

by

Ricotta Parmesan Gnocchi

There is this Gnocchi variation, which my son loves so much; the Ricotta-Parmesan Gnocchi! As you don’t need to roll, cut and nick them, work is done quickly. But still, you need to be careful, just read on in the instructions and you will notice what I want to say.

by

Shrimp Salad

Today I bring you a light and quick shrimp salad. It’s perfect for a starter or even as a full meal. By using Asian seasonings this has a beautiful slightly spicy taste. I believe, everyone loves this dish.

by

Mini Vol-au-vent w Guacamole smoked Salmon

Though I got lots of ideas only one of them was the immediate choice. Two of my favorite foods of all times combined in teeny tiny tarts: Avocado and smoked salmon.

by

Swiss Chocolate Cookies

Switzerland is a chocolate country, very famous for its yummy chocolates. So of course, I need to include chocolate. And as you can see, I even found the perfect cookie cutter!! So, let’s do it!

by

Spicy Pizza Biancha

To make a quick pizza you need some basic ingredients. As I didn’t have any tomato sauce at home, I just used sour cream, some hot red pesto, anchovies and blue cheese. Sour cream is white, hence the name “white Pizza”. It’s easy and quick!

by

Wonton Chips

Everybody knows potato chips but that is not the only thing to make chips with. I use wonton wrappers, the ones used for dumplings and Dim Sum.

by

Ras-Blackberry Vanilla Syrup

Of course, you can easily make syrups and liqueurs yourself! By doing so you can avoid to drink too much sugar, artificial coloring or even preservation agents.

by

Micky's Raclette Potatoes

The recipe was created through an accident; I came home after a day at UNI and my fridge contained potatoes, Raclette cheese and ground beef. So I created a quick recipe, which turned out very delicious.

by

Slow roasted Pork Ribs

Ribs are soooo goood! Nicely marinated and slowly roasted they stay juicy and will be so very tasty. Everyone will love them! They are very simple to cook, but you need to be patient, they take their time.

by

Ham in Aspic

Aspic is quite well known in Switzerland, it’s a tradition to serve them with cold meat platters or even for breakfast. I remember my Dad loving them for dinner, just with some fresh bread.

by

Cheryl's Chocolate Cake

by

Garlic Lobster Tail

I made a garlic butter and used it as seasoning. My son was finger-licking happy!!!

by

Stuffed Sweet Potatoes

I love sweet potatoes. They contain a lot of vitamin E and A and even more sodium and calcium as the normal potatoes. They also have more sugar, that’s why they are sweet.

by

Parmesan Tomatoes

Tomatoes are best during summer, fresh from the garden!

by

Eggplants from the Clay Pot

I used lots of garlic and herbs and cooked them long until soft. It was delicious and my daughter said, you can cook them again.

by

Apricot Raspberry Pie

This cake is delicious! Very fruity, slightly sour through the apricots, sweet through the raspberries and it also looks great. I can really recommend it!
